I am all about being glad. I love the movie Pollyanna. She's full of little pieces of advice that everyone would do better to follow. One, if you look for the good in people, you will surely find it. Two, play the glad game. You can always find something to be glad about.
I was surfing the net today and I found another reason to be glad about living here. Universal Studios is building a Harry Potter world and we live several thousand miles closer!!! That's going to be so much fun. We already have a trip planned to Disney World! We want to be regular goers and in a few years we can visit Harry Potter world as well!!
Back to the glad game. I have always had an optimistic attitude, but it has been severely tested with Fiona and then her diagnosis. We started playing the glad game together when she was diagnosed and we had to explain to her all of the things that were going to start happening. We talked about her losing her hair and we decided it would be nice that she wouldn't have to wait for me to do her hair in the morning.

I have to remind myself often to count my many blessings. It can be so hard to find things to be glad about when you're having a rough day, month, year.
I'll have to follow up on the Harry Potter world - my 13 y/o is a giant fan.
When Eric was losing his hair and even just yesterday, we sing the Veggie Tales song, "No Hair for my Hairbrush." If you think Fiona would like it, I can burn it on a CD for you - it's hilarious!
That is a really great attitude to have! And thanks for your comment today. :-)
I saw a comment you made on Segullah. Several things brought me over here.
1. I'm from Houston.
2. My mom (who still lives there) had Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
Just wanted to say hi and wish you happiness. It sounds like you are doing a great job.
