So, the doctors came in Thursday afternoon and basically admitted that some sort of contaminant got into Fiona's culture and that's why we were in the hospital for almost a week. Sigh...it was such a pain, but they let us go home. I called Hubby and he and Buttercup came and got us. We got home around dinner time and were just too tired to get on the road to go to Dallas, like we had been planning for months. Hubby had set the alarm clock for the next morning, without telling me, to see if we still wanted to go. He managed to talk me out of bed and into the car. I had packed the night before, in case we decided to go.
We drove to Dallas in less than four hours. It was so nice because it didn't seem to take time at all. We had plenty to look at and a higher speed limit. I picked the perfect day to go to the park. The park was open and Spring Break hadn't started yet. We didn't have to wait on any of the rides. Fiona was more inclined to go on roller coasters, appropriate to her age, than before.
We had a nice time at dinner and the hotel was great. We always use a Marriott of some form or another. Hubby jokes that I am such a snob, but it's always reliable. Rooms are clean, there aren't any smoking rooms and it's pretty safe.
We decided not to stay an extra day, like we had planned, because we were all getting pretty tired. We are going to take tomorrow off and just rest. Fiona has her regularly scheduled chemo appointment on Wednesday! I can't believe I have spent so much time around that hospital.
I am excited to go back to Dallas, especially when the girls are older. They have made the building, where Lee Harvey Oswald fired his rifle, into a museum. I also want to go to the ranch they used on the TV show Dallas! That would be fun.

I took my big to Six Flags when we were there in Nov. My step-sister works for MaryKay and they rent the park for the day. We walked on every ride - that is the way to go. Except you do not have recovery time between those monster roller coasters!
I'm glad you didn't have to contend with a lot of lines. It takes some of the fun out of it, especially with little ones.
Glad your home and doing better!
My parents almost never took us to amusement parks, and I have vivid memories of a trip to Six Flags in Dallas, when I was maybe five years old. I can remember a big loop-the-loop roller coaster (that we looked at, didn't ride) and the smell of vomit beneath it. It was magical! Glad your hospital stay was nothing -- annoying to be there for no reason, but better that she's healthy.
