I am going to try and get all of my 'chores' done early this week and take a day off. An actual day. Where I don't feel obligated to iron, clean, sanitize or straighten anything. I haven't taken one of those in a quite a while, if ever. Why is it that stay at home moms never get official days off, or we never feel like we can take on. My husband will take a day off and just lay around on the couch all day watching TV or heading to Sonic for a half priced Dr. Pepper as the most strenuous thing he does. Is it because we live at work? It's hard to sit around doing nothing when I see things that need to be done. I believe Sunday shouldn't be a day of work, yet I am still chasing the girls around helping them to get ready for church, doing my churchly duties, cleaning up the kitchen after several meals. Plus I am still entertaining little people, while definitely qualifies as work. SO, for a day off to work, the girls have to be at school for the lovely 7 hours they normally are. I guess I will just be taking the 7 hours off. But still, 7 hours of laying around, eating bonbons, and reading stuff. Let's see how it goes. I always make these grandiose plans and things seem to get in the way.Monday, April 21, 2008
My Goal this Week

I hope you get your "day" off!
My advice - GO AWAY!
If you stay at home the "to-do's" call out your name and suck you in.
Go to lunch with girlfriends, see a matinee, get a mani-pedi at a beauty school, browse a bookstore or antiques, go to a fancy hotel and read by the pool while sipping something cold, HAVE FUN!
Can you get someone to stay with the girls afterschool so you can make it a full day?
I really hope you are successful. And I think it is more of a mom thing than a stay at home mom thing. We working moms take days off of work to do more stuff at home.
You deserve it!
What a beautific idea you have come up with. I'm pleased to be able to peak in on you and find you're doing well. I'll make your goal my goal and thank you for a day off.
