We're Home

I can't believe that it's been over 2 weeks since I last posted. So many things have happened. First: I got to hang out with these two young men. My little brother, Bubba, was on a mission for our church for two years. He left right after Fiona's diagnosis and got back last September and I hadn't seen him since he visited us in the hospital. He went to Philly and had a wonderful time and grew a lot. PS, he's single and I would highly recommend him. He has to be the nicest male I have ever met. He is so unselfconscious about loving on babies.
The other young man is the initial reason why I flew us to Oregon. He is "Rocky", Dear Sister #2's first child. He is adorable. He woke up more and more while we were there. He was usually wearing some sort of concerned look and would check you out by looking at your hair, which I found really funny. He would look at me, figure that my voice sounded a little like Mom's but my dark hair did not remotely resemble his red-headed Mom's. But I have to keep up on my baby hours and there wasn't much I couldn't do to make him happy, short of feeding him. I also got to give my sister some breaks to do stuff for herself. I was really happy about that. I had to tell her that next time I would leave the entourage at home. Which is fine with TD, he has little interest in going back to Oregon. He missed the heat and sun. I have to say that the first 5 minutes I was there my toes were back to being numb.
The plane ride over wasn't too bad, time wise, but the girls and I were on one side and then TD was alone on the other. The girls are great, especially separately, but put together in an enclosed space for a long time, and ugh. There was no way I was going to sit between the two of them. But we all survived.
The first day was just adjusting to the time change and admiring my sister's house. We also found out that my dad was due to have a stress test the next day. Remember when he had his heart attack around last Father's Day? Well, he was still having chest pains any time he exerted himself. He finally got himself back to the doctor and they were going to check him out again. I was glad we were there to see him again.

New babies are the best - especially when they are your sister's!
