We left on Friday afternoon and drove to a church member's house near Marble Falls, Texas to spend the night. I was worried that we would be up all night listening to the teenage girls squeal and talk. Instead, I think we kept up half of the house doing the same thing ourselves. One of us pointed out that maybe the leaders need an overnighter more often themselves. I have to agree, mostly because I never get out, but I would beg for one a little closer to home. It took us about 4 hours, with one stop, to get to the house. We went to bed before midnight, but I don't think any of us women fell asleep before 3am. We were up just after 6am.
We were told it would be about 30 minutes to the rock, but the girls in my van managed to watch Beauty and the Beast in its entirety before we got there. I have to admit, I was pretty nervous about hiking. I have seriously sprained my ankle twice since we have moved here, the last in October. I really enjoyed climbing the rock and was even happier that it was January and the snakes should be hiding. This was a perfect place for rattlesnakes. Moe was happy to be out. She loved camp when she went in Oregon and we haven't had a chance to wander in the great outdoors much. We had to pose for some silly pictures at the top.
After we hiked back down, we headed to civilization for lunch. Moe used our new Garmin to find out that Krispy Kreme doughnuts were only 6 miles away. We split up from half of our group and headed for there. After another 3 hours, we were finally home again. We had the nicest girls in our car and I managed to stay awake long enough to safely get everyone home. I heard we drove over 500 miles in those 25 hours. Good grief. I don't know that I have ever driven that much myself. Moe and I had a great time and I am grateful I get to hang out with such awesome people and do fun things.

What a great trip! It sounds like so much fun and makes me want to get out and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts. Thanks for the reminder to enjoy life!
