Things I missed about Texas in Oregon:
1) The warmth, I so missed the warmth. It took 2 minutes for my toes to resume the temperature of just above freezing.
2) The humidity, yes, the humidity. My skin started drying out soon after we got there.
3)My magic school bus. Rental vans just don't cut it.
4) My kitties, apparently they missed me too and let Moe have it every time she got home.
5) My own house, which has much more room for us to spread out.
6) My garden spa tub, which I have gotten bizarrely used to, especially all of the water I am used to soaking in. I have been feeling very large in small bath tubs.
7) Our king sized bed. At one point we were on an air mattress. TD outweighs me by 70lbs and I had to give in and cuddle (shudder) in order to sleep. I am not a cuddler, I need space, lots of space.
8) The freeways. I love just hopping on a freeway with tons of lanes and going wherever I want.
9) My YMCA. I wasn't able to get out and get those endorphins running, literally.
10) My bathrobe. It was too big to pack and I seriously missed it in the morning.
11) Should you come back from vacation more pale than you started it? Seriously?
12) The shorter school speed zone times. What's up with all day? Can you say speed trap?
Things I miss about Oregon now that I am back in Texas
1) My family. Things have improved considerably and I want to be there to hang out with my dad and help my mom.
2) On demand babies. Everyone has one there now, it seems to be the in thing. Thank heavens for my friend Heidi, at church, who let's me have either of her babies whenever I want.
3) The chocolate store. See's candies does not have a store in the entire giant state of Texas. What is up with that? Fiona loves that store more than the Disney store.
4) All of my friends, we drove ourselves literally crazy around Sherwood catching up with people we used to spend lots of time with.
5) An elementary school that just let us walk in and find our old teachers.
6) Uh...I think that's about it. We really missed Texas. If I could pick up my family and situate them comfortably around our neighborhood, we would never go back. Plus, I hear that See's ships.

How in the world did I miss your visit?! I'm so sad.
I think I would have to excuse you because I believe you were delirious at the time. I so wanted to see you and your new place, but the germs scared me off!
After our recent trip I realized just how much I love North Carolina. And I'm even more sad to leave it. But I am really looking forward to being closer to family again. I miss them.
