Help For Mother's Day

I am having a hard time finding a card to send my mom for Mother's day. Things have been better than they were in the beginning, but I still have a problem being lovey dovey on Mother's Day and birthdays. I have a hard time being insincere, so all of the, "You are the Best Mom in the World" cards are out. I don't want to be ironic because it comes out mean, so this card I found is out " Mom, here are a few words from the stork that brought me.....No Refunds" That card is either rude or petulant. I do believe she was a pretty good mom until I was about 20. I don't know what happened around that time, but things changed. Any suggestions on the cards you have seen? I also have to call, which is easier this time since I have made a point of calling every so often. Oh, I can't go to the cards for Grandmothers on Mother's Day and have the girls sign it, because that would be untruthful as well. So frustrating.

Can you find a middle of the road "Happy Mother's Day" card? Hallmark.com has cards you can personalize with photos. You could put a family pic on the outside and simply "Happy Mother's Day" on the inside.

I'm sorry this is a bittersweet day for you.

I once found a card for the man my mom married that said, "Happy Father's Day to my mother's husband."
Maybe you could find one of those handmade cards that don't have the poems and sayings. Just a Happy Mother's Day on the front or just on the inside, no other wording?
What a hassle to find just the right thing!

I completely understand. And I need to get on the ball and take care of that too.

I have no advice, except keep looking. You will eventually find something that is generic enough.

Could you make one? I don't know if you're crafty like that, but I like simple ones better anyway -- just Happy Mother's Day is all it needs to say.
