Pippin: It's so quiet.
Gandalf: It's the deep breath before the plunge.
Pippin: I don't want to be in a battle. But waiting on the edge of one I can't escape is even worse.
Okay, so I don't feel so doom and gloom, but this quote keeps coming to mind.
The girls didn't have school today. They were shocked and horrified and I told them to just think of it as a snow day. That made more sense to them.
Moe was supposed to work tonight, but she went in this afternoon until 5pm, when they had to push everyone out and close the store. Apparently Target was the only one still open. You have to know it's bad when Walmart closes on a non holiday at noon.
TD had the day off. He went around nailing down boards on the fence. He's pretty sure we are going to lose the fence. He is also eyeing the neighbor's very tall pine tree. He's convinced it's coming down on our garage or dining room. What a difference between our perspectives. It's all fine and good if he can say, I told you so. I just don't worry about it until it happens, you know? Sufficient unto the day and everything.
I spent the morning cleaning anything that had to be cleaned using electricity. There won't be any foul dishes rotting in the dishwasher. From here on out we are using plastic. Yeah! No dishes for me to do.
So, that's what we are doing. Waiting for the power to go out, basically. The nice thing is that the forecast says Monday night the low will be in the 60's...basically for the first time this summer. We have the pool out back. If the power stays off too long, we will probably drop in on my great aunt in Austin, while TD stays here for work. No rest for people in the insurance business during these times.
I will post when it's over and when I have a chance to get to electricity.

Hang in there. Call me if you need any help. Danielle
Sending you all the good thoughts I can. Let us know you're okay, all right?
Hang in there.
I wait with baited breath to hear about your adventure.
It could be a doozy!
If they fly you out (like New Orleans) pick UT and you can camp out with us!
Is it too crazy to say that I'm actually *bored* tonight? The wind is a-howlin', but nothing much else is going on. I suppose the power will go out before too long, but until then, we're just sorta bumping into each other in our house. Hope it remains this uneventful! :)
I've been through a hurricane before (in North Carolina). It'll be okay. You'll have some great stories to tell when it's all over. I'll say some prayers for you! (And sleep on the first floor. . .)
Loved the LOTR quote at the beginning. I'll keep you in my prayers.
