Still Here

Hey, just a quick post from TD's work computer. We made it through relatively unscathed through the hurricane. A small part of the fence fell down and that was it. Our neighborhood was not so lucky. Several people around us had 100ft tall pine trees come crashing down on their houses. One house in our neighborhood caught fire and someone died in it. We are without power, however, the weather, past Sunday, has been amazing. I don't mind being without power, but I think I am the only one in the house who does. TD has been chomping at the bit for his TV and the girls are home with me, ugh! But we are safe and sound and I will post pictures once I get my power on. Hopefully that will be soon.

I'm so glad you came out of this unharmed and in good spirits! I hope you get your power back very soon. Thinking of you!

Oh, thank goodness! I'm glad you guys are safe--we've been thinking of you and wondering when we'd hear from you again. That's terrible about your neighbor. It does put things in perspective, doesn't it?

Glad you're all safe! I've been thinking about you. I wouldn't mind a few days without power, like you, but I think my family would!

So glad that your house and family did not sustain any real damage. The news footage was incredible. It surprised me how many people did not evacuate. I guess it shouldn't have - human nature.
I love those old enormous trees and they add so much character to a neighborhood. It's sad that they become a threat in that kind of weather.
